Sealed bids, clearly endorsed with the tender number, must be placed in the Bid box at Stores and Procurement, Alton, Richards Bay before 12:00 noon on the closing date. The tenderer's details and return address must be indicated on the back of the sealed envelope. Only tender documents purchased from the municipality will be considered for evaluation. Tender documents are available from the Civic Centre, 5 Mark Strasse, Richards Bay, telephone (035) 9075752, from 12:00 up to the day before the site meeting. Payment of the non-refundable deposit (R649.00 VAT Inc.) can be made at Rates Hall-Civic, Richards Bay or directly into Council's bank account: FNB Richards Bay, Account number 63039446843, reference: Tender No and Company Name. No documents will be handed out unless a receipt for the deposit is produced. Only EFT or cash accepted. The Rates Hall closes at 15:00 on weekdays. Council will not accept responsibility for late delivery of tenders by courier or any other means not placed in the tender box on or before the closing date and time.

Preferential point system: 80/20. Bidders must not be in the service of the state (government) as per Regulation 44 of the Supply Chain Management Regulations. If a legal entity, no director, manager, principal, shareholder, or stakeholder may be in the service of the state. Bidders must attend the compulsory briefing session and register their entity. Joint ventures must also register. Only those who purchase tender documents from the municipality are eligible. Intention to Award and Cancellation notices will be published on the municipal website. Tenderers who have not been contacted within 120 days after the closing date must accept that their tender was unsuccessful.

Provision of grass cutting, shrub trimming, tree branch removal, as-and-when required clearing of privately owned sites across various municipal areas within the City of uMhlathuze for 36 months.

Mandatory requirements: Regulation 44 of the Supply Chain Management Regulations - the Municipality may not make any award to a person in the service of the state (government), or to a non-natural person where any Director, Manager, Principal, Shareholder or Stakeholder is in the service of the state, or who is an advisor or consultant contracted with the municipality or municipal entity. All bids are subject to the terms and conditions contained in the bid documentation as stipulated by various legislations governing public procurement including City of uMhlathuze's policies. The Municipality does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender, and reserves the right to accept any tender in whole or in part.

It is a requirement of this tender that the successful bidder must implement a successful Corporate Social Investment (CSI).
