Submission channel — sealed bids endorsed with the tender number must be deposited in the Bid box at Stores and Procurement, Alton, Richards Bay before 12:00 noon on 16 September 2026.

• Tenderers not contacted within 120 days after closing may assume their bid was unsuccessful.

• Bidders must provide two or more verifiable contracts for prepaid water meter installation and support.
• Bids from persons in the service of the state, or entities with directors, managers, principals, shareholders or stakeholders in state service, or advisors/consultants contracted to the Municipality, will not be awarded.

Scope: supply and installation of prepaid water meters for the City of uMhlathuze over 36 months.

• Meters must comply with S.A Trade Metrology to SANS 1529-1 and SANS 1529-9.
• Bidders must have at least two verifiable contracts for prepaid water meter installation and support.
• The successful bidder must implement a Corporate Social Investment (CSI) programme.

• State service prohibition: no bidder or entity with a director, manager, principal, shareholder or stakeholder in state service, or an advisor/consultant contracted to the Municipality, may be awarded.
• Only tender documents purchased from the Municipality will be evaluated.
• Standard forms: complete and sign all returnable documents in the bid pack, including declarations of interest and independent bid determination.

The Municipality does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender and may accept any tender in whole or in part.
