Scope of work: removal and replacement of brass seat numbers 1. Purpose the purpose of this statement of work is to define the requirements for the removal of existing glued brass seat numbers and the supply and installation of new brass seat numbers in the drama theatre and opera theatre. 2. Scope of work the appointed service provider shall remove the old, glued brass seat numbers from all identified seats in the drama theatre and opera theatre, clean and prepare the surfaces where the old numbers were removed, and supply and install new brass seat numbers in the same positions.

Scope: Removal of existing glued brass seat numbers and supply and installation of new brass seat numbers in the Drama Theatre and Opera Theatre.

Quantities:

• Drama Theatre: 468 seats
• Opera Theatre: 1 224 seats
• Total: 1 692 seats

Detailed requirements:

• Carefully remove old glued brass seat numbers without damaging seats, armrests, flooring, or surrounding finishes.
• Clean areas where old numbers were removed; remove all glue residue, dirt, dust, and loose material.
• Prepare each cleaned surface for secure installation of new numbers.
• Supply new brass seat numbers manufactured to specified dimensions and finish.
• Install new numbers exactly where old numbers were removed, unless otherwise instructed.
• Use appropriately sized brass screws suitable for the seat material and mounting holes.
• Ensure numbers correspond with the seating plans provided by the client.

Workmanship and quality:

• Work must be neat, safe, and to a professional standard.
• Numbers must be aligned consistently and installed securely.
• No visible glue residue, surface damage, loose screws, sharp edges, or misaligned numbers after completion.
• Verify each installed number against seating plans before handover.
• Any damaged surfaces caused by the contractor must be repaired at the contractor's cost.

Contractor responsibilities:

• Provide all labour, tools, equipment, materials, screws, consumables, and supervision.
• Confirm quantities and seat locations on site before manufacturing or installation.
• Protect all theatre finishes, seating, floors, and surrounding areas.
• Keep work areas clean and safe throughout the project.
• Remove all waste, old numbers, glue residue, packaging, and debris on completion.

Site access and safety:

• Comply with all site rules, access arrangements, and health and safety requirements.
• Coordinate work with the client to avoid disruption to scheduled events, rehearsals, performances, and venue operations.

Deliverables:

• All old numbers removed.
• All affected surfaces cleaned and prepared.
• New numbers supplied and installed.
• Installed numbers matched to seating plans.
• Work areas cleaned and waste removed.

Acceptance criteria:

• All new numbers installed in correct locations, match seating plans, securely fixed, visually aligned, and surrounding areas clean and free of damage or residue.

Completion requirements:

• Complete works within agreed project timeline as confirmed in purchase order or appointment letter.
• Submit a proposed work programme before commencement, including expected start date, duration, and completion date.
• Notify client when works are ready for inspection and handover.
• Correct any defects, incorrect numbering, loose fixings, damaged finishes, or incomplete cleaning before final acceptance.

Warranty:

• Minimum warranty period of 12 months from date of final acceptance.
• Covers workmanship, loose or failed fixings, defects in supplied numbers, and installation-related failures under normal use.
• Defects reported during warranty period repaired or replaced at no additional cost.
• Does not cover damage caused by vandalism, misuse, or unauthorised alterations after handover.

Additional requirements for successful bidder:

• Submit a sample of the proposed numbering for approval before fabrication commences.
• Sample approval requirement must be stipulated in the contract.
• Submit an installation programme aligned with the Production Schedule.

All prices must be quoted in Rands and inclusive of VAT (if applicable).
