the configuration and ongoing use of the Twilio (www.twilio.com) software platform.
The South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC), Cape Town, invites proposals from service
providers to assist SAMRC's Information Technology and Systems Department (ITSD) with the use of the
Twilio (www.twilio.com) software platform, including RICA registration, number provisioning, and
ongoing WhatsApp Business messaging support.
The proposal outline and detail should include the following:
System Support Requirements
Supporting of Twilio software and functionality for WhatsApp Business messaging
Assistance with SAMRC RICA requirements for a WhatsApp-enabled cell number
Purchase and provisioning of a South African Twilio number
Activation and configuration of the Twilio number for WhatsApp Business use
Purchase of WhatsApp messaging bundles via Twilio (once-off and/or monthly)
Monitoring of monthly WhatsApp bundle balances, with proactive top-up based on usage
Indicative cost reporting on message usage (e.g. approx. USD 5 per 1000 messages)
Regular monitoring of WhatsApp bundle balances (e.g. approx. USD 5 per 1000 messages)
