The service covers corrosion protection and surface coating on an as-and-when-required basis at Koeberg Nuclear Power Station (KNPS). Due to the corrosive marine environment, structural and process steel components require protective coatings or linings to maintain integrity. The contractor must manage selection, application, and maintenance of coating systems, including quality control. The contract is for a period of 5 years (60 months). The service is governed by the NEC3 Term Service Contract (TSC3) with main Option A (priced contract with price list). The contractor must submit a first plan within 2 weeks of contract date, and a Task Order programme within 7 days of receiving a Task Order. Payment terms: For contracts below R50 million (incl. VAT), Eskom pays within 30 days of receipt of undisputed invoices. For contracts above R50 million, payment terms are as stipulated (likely 30/60 days as per contract data). Prices are fixed for the first 12 months, then adjusted annually: 90% of rates subject to adjustment based on SEIFSA indices (labour, material, equipment, transport, consumables), 10% remain fixed. The contract is a priced contract with a price list; rates are all-inclusive except for specified exclusions (e.g., air compressor hire). A performance bond or demand guarantee may be required; tenderers must select at least two Eskom-approved financial institutions. Interest on late payments is at the prime rate.

Bidders must be registered on the Central Supplier Database (CSD) to access eTendering. Bidders must not be under any restriction from doing business with Eskom or state-owned companies, not on National Treasury's restricted list or Tender Defaulters list, and not have a conflict of interest. Tenderers must not submit more than one tender unless as a JV with joint and several liability. Tenders must be signed by authorised persons. Bidders must comply with the Supplier Quality Management System requirements (238-769T) and provide quality documentation as required. B-BBEE verification certificate required; a decrease in B-BBEE status after award may lead to renegotiation or termination.
