Frances baard district municipality requires a service provider to patch potholes in its parking area in kimberley, northern cape. The work is civil construction and bidders must hold a CIDB grading of 2ce or higher. Bids close on 16 october 2026 at 12:00 and are evaluated on an 80/20 preference system, with 80 points for price and 20 points for the promotion of local labour and/or enterprises located within the district municipal area. There is NO compulsory briefing or site session, so the decisive risks are the CIDB grading, the local-content preference claim and physical delivery of a complete bid pack to the municipal manager before the closing time.
CIDB grading: bidders must be registered at CIDB grade 2CE or higher; the work is civil construction (pothole patching) and this grading is a pre-qualification requirement.
Closing: 16 October 2026 at 12:00, delivered physically to The Municipal Manager, Frances Baard District Municipality, 51 Drakensberg Avenue, Carters Glen, Kimberley, 8300.
Preference points: 80/20 system under the Preferential Procurement Regulations, 2022 and the FBDM SCM Policy — 80 points for price and 20 points for promotion of local labour and/or enterprises located in the district municipal area; the municipality is not bound to accept the lowest bid and may accept bids in part.
No compulsory briefing or site session applies, so no attendance certificate is required.
Compliance documents: CSD registration, valid tax compliance status (SARS TCS or tax pin), and completed and signed SBD 1, SBD 4, SBD 6.1, SBD 6.2, SBD 8 and SBD 9, plus any further forms in the bid document.
Bid validity: bids remain valid for 90 days after the closing date; no response within that period means the bid was unsuccessful.
Enquiries: technical matters to Mr T. Stoffel on 053 838 0936; SCM matters to Mr E. Tlhageng on (053) 8380 946. Bid documents are obtainable from the FBDM offices reception at 51 Drakensberg Avenue, Carters Glen, Kimberley 8300, or from www.francesbaard.gov.za.
