Construction of new sanitation infrastructure and associated external works at floraton primary school in kwazulu-natal, covering demolition and decommissioning of the existing ablution block, a new ablution building to prototype W1A-R, and the associated earthworks, concrete, masonry, waterproofing, roofing, carpentry, ironmongery, metalwork, plastering, plumbing, glazing and painting. The work is measured and priced on a bill of quantities under the model preambles for trades (2008 edition) and runs over a 10 calendar month contract period. Only bidders with a CIDB grading of 5gb or higher may bid, and the alterations, reinforcement and plumbing and drainage bills are provisional. The most consequential condition is that the desludging certificate must be submitted before any payment is released for demolition of the existing toilets.
CIDB grading: 5GB or higher is required; bidders below this grade cannot be considered.
Closing: 4 December 2026 at 09:00.
Contract period: 10 calendar months.
Pricing: the priced bill of quantities, measured under the Model Preambles for Trades (2008 Edition), governs; the alterations section, the reinforcement and the plumbing and drainage bill are provisional and priced as such.
Desludging certificate: must be provided before payment is released for demolition of the toilets.
Old materials: materials from the alterations become the contractor's property and a credit must be allowed in the final summary; items handed to the department's representative require an official receipt, failing which the contractor remains liable for the full replacement value, deducted from money due.
Quality approvals: masonry unit samples of at least six units must be approved; concrete cubes are tested by an independent firm nominated by the contractor and approved by the architect; roof trusses must be designed to SANS 10160 and carry TR1 and TR2 certificates; blockwork to SABS 0145 and concrete masonry units to SABS 1215.
