Summary
Supply of 50 portable handheld point-of-sale ticketing devices, each with a protective pouch and charging accessories, running embedded software compatible with PRASA systems for station, bus and train reservation ticketing. The scope also covers provision of or integration into a payment facilitator, gateway, processor and clearing solution, software licensing, governance, certification, device integration and security, together with delivery, support and maintenance for six months. Bidders price every line on the annexure a schedule — devices, licensing, the payment solution, the support methodology, the key resource, and the on-demand card processing, gateway and transaction fees — and must hold those prices fixed for the full contract term. Quotations close on 28 october 2026 at 12:00.
Key Requirements
Scope: 50 portable handheld PoS ticketing devices with protective pouches and charging accessories, carrying embedded software compatible with PRASA systems, for stations and for bus and train reservations.
Payment solution: one payment facilitator, gateway, processor and clearing solution, either newly provided or integrated into an existing platform.
Pricing schedule: Annexure A must be completed with a price against every line item — 50 devices, 50 software licensing, governance, certification, integration and security items, 1 payment solution, 1 six-month delivery, support and maintenance methodology, and 1 key resource capability item.
Fixed pricing: all quoted prices must remain fixed for the whole 6-month contract period, with totals shown excluding VAT, VAT at 15%, and including VAT.
On-demand fees: the bidder must also price the card processing fee as a percentage per transaction, gateway set-up, the monthly gateway fee for six months, and per-transaction chargeback, fixed dispute and refund fees (each excluding and including VAT).
Evaluation: the total price is the evaluated figure and is assessed in line with the final RFQ conditions, so an incomplete or non-fixed pricing schedule is the main disqualification risk.
Closing: quotations close on 28 October 2026 at 12:00.
