Armscor requires shuttle and transfer services for its personnel, stakeholders and department of defence travellers, arranged through its in-house travel manager ab travel on an ad hoc basis over twelve months. Providers must supply standard and luxury sedans, 4–5 seaters, 10–16 seaters and semi-luxury coaches of up to 60 seats, with drivers holding at least two years' professional driving experience, and must be able to operate on demand seven days a week, day and night, across all south african provinces. This is a request for information rather than an award: NO pricing is submitted now, and appointed providers quote per trip later, with selection based on evaluation of those quotations. The requirement most likely to decide the outcome is a minimum of three positive client references on letterhead for shuttle and transfer work performed between 2022 and 2026, with evidence supporting every claim made in the proposal.
Closing and submission: responses close on 10 November 2026 at 11:00; hard copies go to the Tender Box at the Visitors Entrance (Block 8), Armscor Building, 370 Nossob Street, Erasmuskloof Ext 4, Pretoria; bid validity is 120 days.
References and evidence: a minimum of three positive references on client letterhead for shuttle and transfer services delivered in the last four years (2022–2026), and every statement in the proposal must be substantiated with supporting evidence.
No pricing at this stage: this is an RFI, not an award; quotations are requested from appointed providers as and when services are needed, with a 60-minute turnaround for urgent requests and 2–3 hours for normal requests, and selection follows evaluation of those quotations.
Fleet and permits: standard sedan (max 2 occupants), 4–5 seater, 10–16 seater, luxury sedan (max 2 occupants) and semi-luxury coach (max 60 seater); proof of ownership or registration certificates for all vehicles, or a valid third-party agreement for leased vehicles; Public Operating License (NPTR for interprovincial services), roadworthy certificates, gazetted vehicle permits and Professional Driving Permits; a Cross-Border Permit from the Cross-Border Road Transport Agency where passengers are carried across South African borders.
Driver qualifications: at least two years' experience as a professional driver, a licence matching the vehicle category, a certificate of advanced driving completed at an accredited training academy, and certified copies of ID documents and PDPs for at least two drivers.
Operational capacity and service standards: service on demand seven days a week, day and night, in all provinces, with back-up vehicles for breakdowns or accidents, a dedicated Key Accounts Manager on call 24/7, route optimisation software and real-time vehicle tracking; minimum 95% on-time arrivals and an average customer satisfaction rating of at least 4 out of 5, monitored through regular audits.
Insurance and compliance: adequate public liability insurance covering accidents or injuries, POPIA compliance where personal data is handled, and a signed Service Level Agreement within one week of an Armscor order; no compulsory briefing or site visit applies, and no CSD registration, tax clearance, B-BBEE level, CIDB grading or local content requirement is stated.
