Reputation: proven work experience in removal and disposal of alien invasive plants — 2 projects = 20 points, 3 = 30, 4 = 40, 5 = 50, 6 = 60, plus 10 additional points for every year beyond 6 years to a maximum of 40. Project Leader qualifications in Natural Sciences, Zoology, Biological Science, Ecology, or Botany: Diploma = 0, Degree = 20, Honours = 35, ≥Honours = 50. Project Leader experience in identification and removal of alien plants: 1 year = 20, 2 = 30, 3 = 40, ≥4 = 50. A CV with completed project lists and contactable references is required. Bidders achieving 70 points or more in Stage 2 proceed to Stage 3. Stage 3: Price and preference goals — 80/20 preference point system, price = 80 points, specific goals = 20 points. Deliverables: SHEQ precautions must be adhered to; a method statement must be shared with the client prior to the kick-start meeting and commencement on site; removal and disposal of alien invasive plants; a service report with high resolution photographs of the removal; before and after maps/photos showing the locality of the removed plants; a disposal certificate for the removed and disposed plants. Contract term: three months. Payment will be made once the work has been concluded. The work must be done at Lake Nsezi for 1 km from the abstraction point and Mhlathuze River from UVS farm bridge to the weir.

The contract is subject to the Public Finance Management Act, 1999, uMngeni-uThukela Water's Supply Chain Management Policy and Procedures, and the General and Special Conditions of Contract. The successful supplier may be required to sign a written Contract Form (SBD 7.2). The bidder's offer remains binding for the validity period indicated. If the bidder withdraws the quote within the validity period or fails to fulfil the contract, uMngeni-uThukela Water may recover additional expenses incurred. The law of the Republic of South Africa governs the contract. No services may be rendered before an official Purchase Order is received. uMngeni-uThukela Water reserves the right to appoint more than one supplier and to award the quote as a whole or in part.
