The national film and video foundation (nfvf) invites bids for the production and delivery of the 20th annual south african film and television awards (saftas20). The successful bidder will be responsible for the full event production, including show direction, creative direction, musical performances (including an in-memoriam performance), voice-of-god announcements, discretionary awards, graphical elements, and floor plan management. The contract covers the full duration of the event cycle, with the bidder required to deliver one original and one copy on USB, split into two envelopes (technical and pricing). Provide 5 letters of reference from previous/current clients (5 points), or 4 letters (4 points), or 3 letters (3 points); bidders with less than 2 years of experience score zero.
Ensure between 30% and 50% of the contract amount is subcontracted to previously disadvantaged individuals (as per B-BBEE), and submit a valid B-BBEE certificate or sworn affidavit to score points.

by providing funding for the development, production, marketing and distribution of films and the training and
development of filmmakers. In addition, the NFVF commissions research to produce industry statistics that
provide both the public and stakeholders with valuable insights into the South African film industry.
The NFVF is the custodian of the South African Film and Television Awards, herein referred to as “SAFTAs”
and requests proposals for the services of a competent production company that will manage and implement
all production services related to the 20th South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs20).
SAFTAs is an annual project that is designed to:

Highlight and profile celebrated South African talent and productions.
Encourage the growth of talent and new talent within the industry.
Encourage entrepreneurship within the South African Film and Television market

The NFVF intends on staging the SAFTAs20 ceremony in March 2027 in Gauteng province. Bidders may

project. The service provider should also be able to deliver a world class, glamorous and riveting show that
will attract a wider audience and provide a plan to this effect whilst showing previous and necessary
experience of executing a live show.

2.1. SAFTAs20 Theme:
Each year, the SAFTAs creative approach has been informed by a theme. Since SAFTAs1, the themes have

suggest a theme for SAFTAs20, conceptualise this theme and ensure that the SAFTAs’ strategic goals and
mandate as well as the creative element is taken into consideration. The theme must be translatable to the
