The response sheet includes sections for company background, project/investment opportunity, finance needs, socio-economic and Just Transition impact, investor opportunities, commercial/financial/project readiness, and disclosure permissions. Respondents must also complete the Accuracy of Information Declaration and provide signature block details (name, position, date).

No formal evaluation or scoring criteria apply. This is an information-gathering exercise, not a competitive bid.

Inclusion in the NEV Deal Book is at the sole discretion of the JET IP NEV PMO, based on relevance, completeness of information and programme requirements.

Submission does not guarantee inclusion in the Deal Book, Deal Deck, investor engagements, promotional materials, stakeholder presentations or any related initiative.

Purpose: The JET IP New Energy Vehicles PMO, hosted at the IDC, is collecting information from organisations active in the new energy vehicles value chain to develop a NEV Deal Book showcasing projects, investment opportunities and partnership prospects at varying stages of readiness in South Africa.

Respondents must complete the response sheet covering:

• Company background: registered name, trading name, head office location, year established, website, primary business activity.
• NEV value-chain segment(s): mobility, logistics, infrastructure, battery value chain, automotive assembly, automotive components, mobility software/digital platform, energy, recycling/circular economy, or other.
• Company strategy and product evolution since inception.
• Major clients and strategic partners (up to three, where disclosable).
• Production/operating facilities and capacity.
• Market opportunity and growth drivers.
• Project/investment opportunity: project name, province, municipality, site, project type (greenfield, brownfield/expansion, technology development, commercial deployment, infrastructure, fleet deployment, manufacturing, other), summary, implementation approach, expected commercial operation date.
• Finance needs: total project cost, amount already invested, funding secured, capital sought, remaining unfunded amount.
• Expected financing structure by instrument (sponsor equity, external equity, commercial debt, concessional debt, grant funding, blended/other).
• Use of funding/proceeds.
• Expected productivity, operational and technology gains.
• Socio-economic and Just Transition impact: jobs retained, new permanent jobs, temporary/construction jobs, women and youth employment, people trained, SMEs supported, local content percentage, other benefits.
• Workforce impact of NEV adoption: occupations/skills changing, reskilling gaps, external support needed.
• Investor opportunities sought: equity, debt, concessional finance, grant, strategic investor, technology partner, manufacturing/infrastructure partner, customer/offtaker, public-sector/market-access partner, other.
• Project maturity: development stage, technology readiness level, commercial maturity.
• Business/revenue model.
• Commercial traction: customer commitments, pilots, LOIs/MOUs, contracts, offtake, recurring sales.
• Financial indicators: project IRR, equity IRR, payback period, project life.
• Project readiness checklist: land/site, environmental approvals, municipal/regulatory approvals, grid connection, technology supplier, EPC/implementation partner.
• Carbon/GHG impact: annual and lifetime emissions avoided, baseline/calculation method, independent verification.
• Disclosure and data-use permissions for publication and external sharing.
• Conflict of interest declaration.
• Ownership structure: Black, women, youth and foreign ownership percentages.
• Key risks and mitigation measures.
• Support required from government or DFIs.

Respondents must describe the project's implementation or scale-up approach and expected implementation/commercial operation date. The response sheet requires a project summary, objective, and what will be implemented or expanded.

Respondents must provide up to three representative clients or strategic partners relevant to their track record, including name, sector and relationship, where disclosable. Company background must include year established, primary business activity, and production/operating facilities and capacity (location, installed capacity, current output, planned capacity after investment).

Respondents are asked to provide information on expected productivity, operational and technology gains post-investment, including productivity/operating efficiency, unit cost reduction, energy efficiency, quality/yield improvement, lead time/turnaround improvement, reliability/uptime, technology adoption/automation, and other relevant gains.

No pricing schedule applies. Respondents must provide financial information as part of the response sheet: total project cost, amount already invested/spent, funding already secured/committed, capital currently being sought, remaining unfunded amount, expected financing structure by instrument (sponsor equity, external equity, commercial debt, concessional debt, grant funding, blended/other), and use of funding/proceeds (project preparation, land/site, plant/equipment/CAPEX, charging/electrical/enabling infrastructure, working capital/OPEX, technology development, skills/training, other).

No bid security, guarantees, bonds, retention or payment terms apply.

• Total project cost (in Rand).
• Amount already invested/spent.
• Funding already secured/committed.
• Capital currently being sought.
• Remaining unfunded amount.
• Expected financing structure by instrument (approximate percentages): sponsor equity, external equity, commercial debt, concessional debt, grant funding, blended/other.
• Use of funding/proceeds: project preparation/feasibility, land/site, plant/equipment/CAPEX, charging/electrical/enabling infrastructure, working capital/OPEX, technology development, skills/training, other.

No formal eligibility or pre-qualification criteria are stated. Participation is open to organisations active in the new energy vehicles value chain.

No CSD registration, tax clearance, B-BBEE level, CIDB grading or CIPC registration is required for this RFI.

Respondents must declare any actual, potential or perceived conflict of interest in relation to the IDC, the JET IP PMO or any public institution involved.

Ownership structure (Black, women, youth, foreign ownership percentages) must be provided.

Information submitted is processed under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (Act No. 4 of 2013), where applicable.

Confidential or commercially sensitive information must be clearly marked; IDC cannot guarantee confidentiality where disclosure is required by law, court order, audit, parliamentary oversight or other statutory obligations.

Respondents must provide ownership structure including Black ownership, women ownership, youth ownership, and foreign ownership percentages. No B-BBEE scorecard, affidavit or certificate is required for this RFI.

Respondents are asked to provide information on carbon/greenhouse-gas impact, including annual GHG emissions avoided/reduced (tCO2e/year), lifetime GHG emissions avoided/reduced (tCO2e), basis/baseline/calculation method, and whether independently verified. Socio-economic and Just Transition impact includes environmental benefits excluding GHG/carbon. The project readiness checklist includes environmental approvals status (secured, in progress, not started, or not applicable).

No contract will be awarded as a result of this RFI. Information submitted will be used for internal project assessment, pipeline development, preparation of the NEV Deal Book and Deal Deck, and targeted engagement with investors, DFIs/funders and government stakeholders, subject to the respondent's disclosure permissions and applicable confidentiality/privacy requirements. IDC reserves the right to seek clarification, verification or additional information from any respondent; such clarification creates no obligation on IDC. Submission does not guarantee inclusion in any related initiative.

All costs associated with the preparation and submission of responses are borne solely by the respondent. IDC shall not be liable for any costs, losses, damages or expenses incurred by respondents in relation to this RFI. Information submitted is processed in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (Act No. 4 of 2013), where applicable.
