• Scope: Appointment of a registered asbestos waste specialist to collect and dispose of asbestos pipe offcuts from eight Johannesburg Water network depots to a licensed landfill site.
• Depots: Avalon, Klipspruit, Southdale, Langlaagte, Randburg, Hamberg, Midrand, and Ennerdale JW Depots.
• Key Deliverables:

• Collection and transportation of asbestos waste from each depot (once-off per depot).
• Submission of waste manifest, safe disposal certificate, and weighbridge slip to Johannesburg Water within 7 days of disposal.
• Provision of special PPE for the disposal team.
• Submission of a written asbestos management plan/method statement prior to commencement.

• Mandatory Specialist Requirements:

• Must be registered as a Type 2 Asbestos Contractor with the Department of Labour & Employment.
• Must submit copies of a valid competent certificate for handling asbestos.
• Must submit at least two client reference letters on company letterhead detailing past asbestos handling/disposal work.
• Specialist or company must have a minimum of five years' experience in asbestos waste handling; submit a CV or company profile.
• Must possess a valid Hazardous Transport Certificate from the Gauteng Department of Environment.

• The asbestos waste disposal specialist must be registered as Type 2 with the Department of Labour & Employment.
• Submit copies of a valid competent certificate for handling asbestos.
• Submit at least two client reference letters on company letterhead detailing past asbestos handling/disposal projects.
• The specialist or company must have a minimum of five years' experience in asbestos waste handling; submit a CV or company profile.
