Costs — the successful bidder is liable for all duties and costs on legal documents, surety and retentions. The municipality is not liable for any expenses incurred in preparing the bid.

Validity — bids must remain valid and binding for a minimum of 90 days after closure, extending automatically until contract signing if needed.

CSD — bidders must be registered on the Central Supplier Database; the municipality may not award to unregistered suppliers.

Tax compliance — a valid tax clearance certificate or SARS PIN, or CSD number, must be provided. Foreign suppliers must complete the pre-award questionnaire in MBD 1.

B-BBEE — original or originally certified SANAS-approved B-BBEE certificate, or a sworn affidavit for EME/QSE, must be submitted to claim points.
