Board Strategic Planning Session
The Transport Education and Training Authority (TETA) will convene its annual Board Strategic Planning
Session on 20 and 21 August 2026. The session provides the Board and Executive Management with an
opportunity to reflect on the organisation's strategic direction, assess progress against strategic objectives,
consider the evolving policy and operating environment, and align on strategic priorities and initiatives for
the forthcoming years.
The outcomes of the Strategic Planning Session will guide the enhancement and implementation of TETA's
strategic objectives, governance priorities, and organisational direction, ensuring continued alignment with
the National Skills Development Plan (NSDP), government priorities, and TETA's legislative mandate.
To ensure an objective, structured and productive strategic planning process, TETA intends to appoint an
independent and suitably qualified facilitator with demonstrated experience in facilitating Board strategic
planning sessions.
The purpose of this Terms of Reference is to appoint an independent facilitator to plan, facilitate and
oversee the TETA Board Strategic Planning Session and produce a comprehensive report outlining the
strategic deliberations, resolutions, recommendations and agreed actions arising from the session.
The appointed facilitator will be required to:
To facilitate the Board Strategic Planning Workshop of TETA Board to assist the Board during the
workshop to formulate its strategic intent
Plan and prepare for the two-day Board Strategic Planning Session in consultation with TETA.
Oversee and facilitate the proceedings of the Strategic Planning Session.
Set the tone and guide discussions to encourage meaningful participation and constructive engagement
by Board members and Executive Management.
Facilitate strategic deliberations while ensuring discussions remain focused on the approved objectives,
strategic priorities and desired outcomes.
Effectively manage participation and ensure balanced engagement throughout the session.
Capture all key discussions, strategic considerations, resolutions and recommendations.
Provide strategic guidance to assist the Board in reaching consensus on key strategic matters where
appropriate.
Facilitate the Board's review of the current Strategic Plan, including the strategic intent, legislative
mandates and strategic priorities.
Facilitate discussions to identify gaps, emerging priorities, risks and opportunities that may influence
TETA's strategic direction.
