A compulsory tender briefing meeting will be held on 27 August 2026 at 11:00 at Mqhakama High School. Attendance is mandatory; bidders must bring a hard copy of the bid document. No late arrivals will be admitted. The Site Inspection certificate must be signed and stamped by the Department representative during the briefing as proof of attendance.

Bids must be submitted in hard copy only; faxed or e-mailed bids are not accepted. Late submissions will not be accepted. Bidders must attend the compulsory tender briefing meeting with a hard copy of the bid document; those without it will not be admitted. The Site Inspection certificate must be signed and stamped by the Department representative during the briefing as proof of attendance; failure to do so will disqualify the tender. Returnable documents include the completed bid document, signed forms as specified in the tender document, and proof of payment for the bid document if a hard copy was purchased.

The 80/20 preference points system applies. Price contributes 80 points; 20 points are allocated for specific goals: Ownership by Black people (5 points), Ownership by women (6 points), Ownership by youth (5 points), Ownership by people living with disabilities (4 points). Bidders must be registered on the Central Suppliers Database with the applicable CIDB grading and hold a valid tax clearance certificate. The Department reserves the right not to award to the lowest bidder and will conduct a detailed risk assessment prior to award.

The project involves the sanitation programme for schools in the Ugu District, specifically at Mqhakama High School in Highflats. The contract period is 6 months. The required CIDB grading is 5 GB or higher. The scope includes construction of sanitation facilities as per the tender document.

A non-refundable payment of R 380.00 is required for a printed/hard copy of the bid document. Payment must be made via bank deposit to ABSA Bank, account number 41-2194-1044, account type Business Cheque Account, account holder KZN PROV GOV-WORKS, branch code 632005, reference 14074037. No EFT payments accepted. Proof of original payment receipt, stamped by the bank (hard copy), must be produced upon collection.
