The agricultural research council requires the supply and delivery of six gas standards in 5 l aerosol cans — methane at 30%, 50% and 80%, and carbon dioxide at 10%, 50% and 70% — for gas chromatograph calibration at the institute for soil, climate and water in pretoria. Quotations are assessed on the 80/20 preference point system, with 80 points for the lowest acceptable price and 20 points for specific goals that must be claimed and backed by proof. The most consequential consideration is that only bidders registered on the central supplier database, holding a valid tax compliance pin and a valid b-bbee certificate or affidavit, and submitting signed standard bidding documents, will be considered.
Closing and submission: quotations close on 03 November 2026 at 11:00 and must be emailed to [email protected]; quotations sent anywhere else are not accepted.
CSD registration: only bidders registered on the Central Supplier Database are considered, and the CSD registration number plus the full CSD report must accompany the quotation.
Tax and B-BBEE evidence: a valid tax compliance PIN and a valid B-BBEE certificate or affidavit are required with the quotation.
Preference points (80/20): price carries 80 points (lowest acceptable price scores full marks) and specific goals carry 20 points — HDI ownership of 51% or more 6 points, women 51% or more 4 points, youth 51% or more 4 points, persons with disabilities 51% or more 2 points, B-BBEE Level 1 to 4 2 points, and promotion of SMMEs 2 points. Goals not claimed, or claimed without supporting proof, score nothing.
Signed SBD forms: SBD 4 (Bidder's Disclosure) and SBD 6.1 (Preference Points Claim Form) must be completed, signed and returned with the quotation; failure to do so may disqualify the bid, and a false disclosure disqualifies it outright.
Automatic exclusion: bidders listed on the Register for Tender Defaulters or the List of Restricted Suppliers are disqualified from the process.
Pricing and delivery terms: prices must be quoted in South African Rand inclusive of VAT, delivery, insurance and taxes, with no price adjustments or changes to delivery particulars permitted; the quotation must state its validity period, the delivery date, and the period and extent of the warranty on the goods.
