Round log transport of pine and gum pulp from safcol's bergvliet plantation in the north region to sappi ngodwana, using shorthaul, direct-to-mill, longhaul and handling modes over lead distances of up to 100 km. The work is volume-based with an estimated contract value of r500 000, expires once that value is reached and will not be extended, and is priced per kilometre on schedule 6 against a base date of 1 september 2026 with fuel at r30,2801 per litre. The decisive hurdle is the mandatory equipment phase: bidders must prove ownership or lease of at least three 6x4 or 6x6 rigid logger-body truck tractors with two- or three-axle logger trailers plus a three-wheel logger for loading, and proving only one of the two fails the bid. Quotations close on 16 october 2026 at 12:00 and must be emailed to [email protected] With the RFQ number in the subject line.
Closing: 16 October 2026 at 12:00, email only to [email protected] with RFQ/202/139/2026 in the subject line; late or incomplete submissions are rejected and quotations stay binding for 60 days.
Mandatory equipment: at least three 6x4 or 6x6 rigid logger-body truck tractors, each with a two- or three-axle logger trailer, plus a three-wheel logger for loading; both the truck fleet and the logger must be proven or the bid fails Phase 2 and is not evaluated further.
Equipment proof: eNatis RC1 or LCO documents, proof of purchase (or original manufacturer documents for a three-wheel logger exempt from traffic authorities), or a lease/rental agreement for hired units; missing proof disqualifies the bidder.
Evaluation: 80/20 system with 80 points for price and 20 points for 51% and above black ownership; only bids passing the administrative and mandatory phases are scored, and the lowest offer is not automatically accepted.
B-BBEE evidence: SANAS-accredited verification certificate or an EME/QSE sworn affidavit signed by the EME representative and attested by a Commissioner of Oaths; no certificate means no preference points, and joint ventures must submit a consolidated certificate.
Tax and CSD: compliant SARS tax status (PIN or tax clearance) verified via CSD or e-Filing, with 7 working days to rectify before disqualification; CSD registration required, or within 7 working days of award.
Pricing: every rate per kilometre on Schedule 6 must be completed with no blank spaces, prices firm and inclusive of VAT, rates excluding handling and VAT, with fuel escalation percentages of 30% shorthaul, 19% handling, 33% direct-to-mill and 36% longhaul (no backhaul) at the base date.
