iThemba LABS seeks to appoint a competent and experienced service provider to provide preventative

maintenance, routine servicing, breakdown repairs and technical support for the following compressed

air equipment at iThemba LABS Gauteng for a period of Three years.

Equipment covered:

• Two Jaguar EAS10 screw air compressors.
• One Jaguar ED-20F refrigerated air dryer.
• Two Inline particle filters.
• One 500 L Jaguar air receiver tank.
• Associated compressed air piping, fittings, valves and ancillary components.

Compulsory site visit

A compulsory site visit will be conducted prior to the closing date to allow prospective bidders to

familiarise themselves with the equipment, site conditions and full scope of work. Only bidders who

attend the site inspection and sign the attendance register will be eligible for further evaluation. Bids

submitted by non-attendees will not be considered.

The appointed service provider shall (in the presence of our Mechanical Technicians):

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and routine servicing in accordance with the

original equipment manufacturer's recommendations.

• Carry out fault diagnosis, breakdown repairs and corrective maintenance to restore equipment

to normal operating condition.

• Supply and replace all routine service consumables, including but not limited to:

o Oil, lubricants, separator filters.

o Drive belts.

o Standard service seals and gaskets.

o Other routine maintenance consumables.

o Inspect, clean and maintain the compressed air distribution system, ensuring that air

lines remain free from dust, moisture, oil contamination and blockages.

o Inspect associated equipment and recommend corrective actions where necessary to

ensure reliable operation.

Spare parts and major component replacements

• Where repairs require replacement components or major spare parts that are not considered

routine service consumables, the service provider shall submit a quotation(from the parts

suppliers) for approval by iThemba LABS before any parts are procured or installed with a

mark-up of that is not greater than 20%.

• No additional work outside the approved scope shall be undertaken without prior written

approval from iThemba LABS.

Contract period

• The contract shall be valid for a period for Three years.
• iThemba LABS reserves the right to terminate the contract in accordance with the terms and

conditions of the agreement in the event of poor performance or non-compliance.
