Summary
The supply, installation, testing, commissioning and certification of seven electric chain hoists for bayhead wagons at TRANSNET engineering's durban (bayhead) depot, on a month-to-month basis over a four-month period. Pricing is quoted on a delivered, vat-inclusive basis against a bill of quantities issued on the TRANSNET e-tender submission portal, with a compulsory site briefing on 29 october 2026 and closing at 16:00 on 19 november 2026. Bids are scored 80 points for price and 20 for specific goals, but must first clear a 70-point technical threshold assessed on annexure b. The biggest risk is the compulsory briefing: bidders who do not attend, or who omit the certificate of attendance, the completed pricing schedule or the bill of quantities, are disqualified.
Key Requirements
Closing: 19 November 2026 at 16:00 β electronic upload only via the Transnet e-Tender Submission Portal (https://esupplierportal.transnet.net); late submissions are rejected and each bidder must submit through its own registered company profile.

Technical threshold: a minimum of 70 points against the Annexure B technical evaluation criteria; this must be met or exceeded before price and specific goals are scored.
Mandatory returnables: the fully completed pricing schedule on the e-tender portal and Annexure C Bill of Quantities must be submitted by closing or the bid is disqualified; missing scoring documents (key personnel CVs, quality management and testing plans, warranty and after-sales support, specific goals proof) score zero instead of disqualifying.
Preference points: 80 points for price and 20 for specific goals β B-BBEE Level 1 or 2 (5), 30% black women owned (5), 50% black youth owned (5), owned by persons with disability (5), Level 3 to 8 or non-compliant (0); a valid B-BBEE certificate or sworn affidavit from a SANAS-accredited agency, registered auditor or Close Corporations Act accounting officer is needed to claim.
Compliance: CSD registration and summary report, a valid SARS tax compliance PIN or printed TCS certificate, and proof of authority to sign; each JV, consortium or subcontractor party submits its own tax PIN or CSD number, and bidders on the Register for Tender Defaulters or List of Restricted Suppliers are automatically disqualified.
